An Award winning Somali-American Director specialized in storytelling. His work explores nuances in contemporary America from a comedic, yet serious tone with a keen interest in aesthetic eccentricity & pastiche-rich design. Deeply inspired by the stylistic experimentation of prominent avant-garde African-American artists like Melvin Van Peebles, Julie Dash, and Terence Nance, his work breaks the molds of traditional storytelling techniques to explore the delicate relationship between style & identity.
